Applying a Gradient Fill in WordArt (Excel, PowerPoint, or Word)

Use WordArt to fill text with a gradient, creating a “rainbow” effect. Here's how:

  1. Click the Insert WordArt button on the Drawing toolbar.

  2. From the WordArt palette, double-click a style (or select a style and click OK).

  3. Type your text, then click OK.

  4. Right-click the WordArt object and select Format WordArt from the shortcut menu.

  5. Click the Colors and Lines tab.

  6. Click the Color drop-down box.

  7. In the color palette, click Fill Effects.

  8. Click the Gradients tab, specify your gradient fill, click OK, then OK again to close the Format WordArt dialog box.
