Resizing Graphic Objects (Excel, PowerPoint, or Word)

To resize a graphic object (a picture, clip art, an AutoShape, or WordArt):

  1. Select the graphic object. Sizing "handles" will appear at each corner and halfway along each side.

  2. Hover your mouse cursor over any of the sizing handles. Your mouse cursor will change into a two-headed arrow.

  3. When your mouse cursor becomes a two-headed arrow, press and hold the left mouse button and drag the sizing handle until the object is the size you want it.

To resize a graphic object and keep its original proportions:

  1. Select the graphic object.

  2. Hold down the Shift key.

  3. Drag any of the corner handles away from or toward the center until the object is the size you want it.

To resize a graphic object around a central point and keep its original proportions:

  1. Select the graphic object.

  2. Hold down the Shift and Ctrl keys.

  3. Drag any of the corner handles away from or toward the center until the object is the size you want it.
